HDG was founded by Daniel P. Hamm, P.E. in July of 2002 and began in the communication industry. All of HDG's personnel have been working in the engineering field for many years and the company has worked for various private and public clients such as AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile USA Inc., and Sprint/Nextel. HDG provides multiple services for all these clients including structural engineering; civil engineering; geotechnical engineering; architectural engineering; electrical and grounding design; QA/QC review; site and feasibility analyses; site design, permitting and zoning support; code reviews; and project management services. In addition, HDG has provided expert testimony in several municipalities across the New England area.

In 2007 with the addition to the company of key structural engineers, HDG began to more fully develop its structural department and diversify into residential and commercial projects. The structural department has designed and developed over 2000 equipment support platforms on various types of structures and buildings including steel, masonry and wood construction. In addition, they have provided full structural design for numerous residential and commercial building projects throughout New England.

In 2009 HDG expanded again, this time with their Civil & Geotechnical Engineering Department, opening offices in Western Massachusetts and Upstate New York, expanding their civil engineering services to the private and public civil sectors within the Western New England region, specializing in rapid response, lean-office operations and personal Project Manager attention. With our exceptional staff and Engineering Director, a civil engineer with 16-years of experience specializing in municipal projects in Massachusetts, our new office provides expertise in infrastructure design and rehabilitation; dam inspections; hydrology & hydraulics analysis; stormwater management design; land development; site and environmental permitting; geotechnical engineering; cost estimating; and construction quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC).

In our most recent adventure, HDG has now added an Architecture Department to the firm, allowing us to become a true, full-service A&E firm.
