HDG was founded by Daniel P. Hamm, P.E. in July of 2002 and began in the communication industry. All of HDG’s personnel have been working in the engineering field for many years and the company has worked for various private and public clients such as AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile USA Inc., and Sprint/Nextel. HDG provides multiple services for all these clients including structural engineering; civil engineering; architectural engineering; electrical and grounding design; QA/QC review; site and feasibility analyses; site design, permitting and zoning support; code reviews; and project management services. In addition, HDG has provided expert testimony in several municipalities across the New England area.

In 2007 with the addition to the company of key structural engineers, HDG began to more fully develop its structural department and diversify into residential and commercial projects. The structural department has designed and developed over 2000 equipment support platforms on various types of structures and buildings including steel, masonry and wood construction. In addition, they have provided full structural design for numerous residential and commercial building projects throughout New England.

In 2009 HDG expanded again, this time with their Civil Engineering Department, expanding Civil services in the private and public sectors within the New England Region, specializing in rapid response, lean office operations and personal Project Manager attention.

Then in 2014, HDG added an Architecture Department to the firm, developing and completing work in the private and public sector designing laboratory spaces, clean rooms, and call & data centers.  HDG also has designed several banks and credit unions as well as most recently becoming the on-call architect for the Smithsonian.
