Meet our Newest Member of the Team:
Peter Lambert joins HDG as Controller, responsible for the day to day financial responsibilities of the firm. Peter comes to HDG with many years’ experience working for firms in the Engineering and Architectural field. We are excited to have him as part of the HDG Team!
The Architecture Department completed work on a new office space for Pilot Studio, a fast growing branding firm for the film industry, located at the Boston Design Center. HDG renovated their existing space and expanded it to a total of 4000 SF. Check out the time lapse footage for a glimpse into the extensive renovations.
The Architecture Department also recently completed the design of an office and warehouse facility for Eastern Communications in Bloomfield, CT. The office is 4,000 SF and the warehouse is 13,000 SF. The project features exposed post and beam trusses in the office area. In addition, HDG has completed the design of a 14,300 SF warehouse for Industrial Communications in Marshfield, MA. HDG worked closely with the client and pre-engineered warehouse provider in developing the design. The Architecture Department has also just recently completed the renovation design for TSD in an existing building in North Andover, MA. TSD develops software for the rental/loaner car industry. The project will serve as the new sales and financial offices. The offices will augment TSD’s existing facilities at 1620 & 1750 Turnpike Street.
Lastly, HDG is presently working with the Smithsonian Institution and the Harvard Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory in the design of a 26,000 SF mission control center for the Chandra X-Ray telescope that is presently in outer space. The facility also has offices for 57 staff members. The final location will either be in Watertown or Burlington.
Our Structural Department continues to develop structural engineering and designs for the Telecom field as well as completing several cold-formed steel projects for both private and public clients. Such projects include 4 Montvale Ave, in Woburn, MA which HDG completed cold-formed steel design and calcs for a four-story residential/commercial building; Boston Medical Center, in which the structural department designed structural ceilings for their newly designed MRI buildings; as well as cold-formed steel design of exterior facades supporting the components and cladding of several university buildings including, SNHU, Providence College and Brown University.
The Telecommunications Department continues to support all the major telecom carriers on the expansion and refinement of their networks.
And lastly, our Civil Department – recently finished work assisting Comcast with communication cable design and permitting for the CSX Railroad and Pan Am Railroads, as well as completing a comprehensive storm water analysis and design of an existing retail development with Siegfried Porth Architects. In addition, HDG completed a project assisting landowners and Environmental Scientists with the replacement of an existing logging bridge to a permanent bridge and river crossing in an environmentally sensitive area. The Civil Department also recently completed a site plan and storm water analysis and design for a proposed “green” solar energy project in Andover, MA.
